The reference is based on information extracted from the pages of IANA, the official mimetype registrator. Procedures for registering Media Types can be found in RFC 4288 and RFC 4289. Additional procedures for registering media types for transfer via Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) can be found in RFC 4855.
